Tip # 1: IF you ever go out and buy a floor lamp or desktop lamp or already have one and just want to rearrange things. Take this into consideration, where ever you decide to put it, put it in a place preferably in a corner where it will reflect light off two walls. This will give you more light and won't take up as much energy by lessening the amount of lighting needed to light-up your space.
Tip # 2: If you ever decide you want or need to make a major purchase try and wait at the end of the month, quarter, or year. It is said that many retailers set monthly, quarterly and annual sales goals. Stores may even cut prices at these times to meet sales targets. If the salesperson refuses to cut the price down, ask to speak with a manager. It doesn't hurt to ask for a price reduction.

What gives?

Seriously, what gives?
Okay so about two weeks ago on a Tuesday morning at around 8:52 I get pulled over for speeding in a school zone. It really was so messed up! I started out driving on 11th street and got to the lights where 11th and Gore meet. When the lights turned green I proceed on to my destination, once I crossed over about a few feet or so I was coming up to a school zone, not only do you see the sign you see it's lights flashing. So I obey the sign by decreasing my speed to 20 mph. Once I got to the last sign that has "school zone ends" you come up to some more lights located at Ferris and Fort Sill Blvd. The lights were red when I got to that point so of course I stopped, the lights turned green so I went on but when I came to the other side after the lights which started Ft. Sill Blvd.
Again I was in another school zone, unfortunately I didn't catch the sign until I had passed it and realized I was going 35 mph so I quickly tried to slow down but it was too late! the motorcycle cop that caught my eye because he had nearly blinded me in the process with his head light located just off of the sidewalk of Lawton High School just seconds after I realized what I did he pulls me over!
What really bites is I tried telling this to the cop and he practically agrees with me and says "yeah it's messed up over here but if you had been a little bit more patient the school zone would not have been enforced once it turned 9:00 AM." What the heck? how come he couldn't have just given me a warning?
In my opinion I really think Fort Sill Blvd. is jacked from both sides or just a curse for me cause that is not the first ticket I got from that area! I got one going the opposite direction four months ago coming off of Cache Road. Who ever is in charge of these signs should definitely make sure that they all have flashing lights on them, especially in that area. I mean how are you going to go from one set of flashing lights then come to a next set of signs that don't. I figure a school zone is a school zone, don't matter if it is an elementary school or a high school. The signs should all be flashing!
So this is my conclusion at least for myself anyway, either totally avoid that area on school days, write a letter to the city telling them to re-evaluate these signs and make them all flashing or go really slow like 20 mph all the way through the first lights where 11th and Gore intersect all the way to the end of the last set of school zones. However if I drive slower, then I risk the chance of getting a ticket for impeding traffic.
Perhaps this is another way for these cops to meet there quotas so maybe that is why it is set up that way over there. It's an easy ticket and they know this, that's why they use those motorcycle cops because they can fit in just about any little crack they find.
Is it me or should something be done about this? Now that's what I'm talking about! the picture of the school sign shown at the top is what we should have or at least something similar to that.

It Sure Would be Nice If.........

Hello! to All, Hope everyone had a good start to the new month. October is here! Here is my new blog for the month of October. I may have more to write about this month later, just depends what I come across and how I feel about it.
It Sure Would be Nice If........
So this is what I was thinking and really it isn't a bad thing at all, not impossible to do and it would help a lot of folks out there, especially in this day and time.
It Sure Would be Nice If........
For all the people in the world that have to pay bills to keep their house in working order like paying the utilities, rent or a mortgage and any extras that pertains in keeping your house in working order, it sure would be nice if these companies could give back to the people.
I mean come on, is that all we are destined to do is go to work just to pay the bills? No! it doesn't have to be that way. Shoot if a finance company can do that when you purchase a vehicle and you pay them for so many months and a person is in good standing, then they should give you an option to skip a month just by paying a deferred payment fee of about $25.00. Sure that might mean it will take you a little longer to pay a vehicle off. But in all reality who couldn't use an extra $500.00 or so a month to knock out another bill completely like a credit card or something. Or even have that extra money to put towards improvements where ever it is needed. Of course there would be some set rules to this like for example you would have to be in good standing with the company by keeping up with your payments, paying the amount due and on time would be a start. And it should only work on the bills that would be on going like your utilities, car insurance and rent or mortgage. And bills that would be over $100.00 would be the ones that could qualify for such a program.
I really think this could take off some how some way. It would really give a lot of people a chance to get themselves out some debt and give them some relief so they can enjoy their hard earn money every now and then. It would give them a second chance on making things right for a faulty decision they made when it came to their finances.
Seriously a lot of us could get a lot more done a lot faster if this were to happen. I really think this would help people be a lot less meaner too if we were all given this opportunity. And I say this because sometimes when I don't have the money to do something or have it to be able to help someone or a good cause out it makes me upset that I can't help and therefore I sometimes feel like a grouch. And I'm sure there are many of you that feel the same. So it certainly would be nice if these companies could give back to the people for doing their part in society. Right?

Health Insurance???????
About 3 weeks ago I get a call from a close friend, she tells me that her mom is in the hospital! I ask her what "happened?" she tells me that her mom has problems with blood clots and that she was admitted into the hospital because she was in a great deal of pain due to a blood clot in her leg. She is suppose to be on a medication that keeps the clots under control!
Unfortunately, she is unable to keep current with her medications because of the lack of a steady income and no health insurance to help in bringing the costs down so she could afford them and to be able to see a doctor on a regular basis. Thankful the hospital that she was admitted at and the attending physician arranged a way that she could obtain her medications at a very low price but only for the month.
That's a great thing what they did but now what happens after that month is gone? She goes back to how things were before, with not being able to afford her medications and not being able to see a doctor on a regular basis. She will then wait with dreaded anticipation when her next blood clot will strike! only to come closer to deaths door.
I know that really sounds intense and scary but it is true, blood clots are a a serious matter. My friends' mom is 56 years old and has health issues, she's way to young to claim social security and has already been denied disability benefits. Even though it is evident that she has health problems that prevent her from working she cannot obtain benefits.
This situation really saddens me because I feel that this should not be happening! there are a lot more people in this kind of situation and they are stuck. These people are good people. They are out there doing their best to do what is right! They are law abiding citizens trying to make it on what they have which in most cases is nearly not enough! They basically get a slap in the face!
There are so many other programs out there that people qualify for or don't qualify for, which I'll come back to about that later. About how these programs should seriously reconsider how they decide if a person qualifies for something or not, let me say they should not base it on gross income.
Back to my friends' mom, if she is able to qualify for something lets say food stamps for example then I think she should certainly be able to qualify for some kind of health insurance. Come on, isn't there something? Even if it is just temporary or supplemental. And if it is something that needs to be life long then there should be a rule for them to follow, in terms of having to reapply ever so often. Just so these programs can keep track of changes and decide whether or not there should be a decrease or increase.
I don't know, some thing to that nature would be nice for these people who really deserve it! It's not impossible! All I know is that it really saddens me to see this happening. Especially to my friends' mom and there is nothing you can do. What if it's your mom,a close friend of yours or other loved ones as well?
